Missal Romanum MCMLXIIA Deeper and Richer experience
|
MRLXII (MR62) is primarily intended to be used as a research and training resource for priests, altar servers, scholars, students, and pretty much anyone interested in becoming more familiar with the vernacular meaning of the Latin phrases of the TLM.  Not to discourage you from to using the program at Mass, however, there are some useful guidelines, but first, an MRLXII beta test story. Parishioners at St. Joe’s have seen me with my smart-phone out at Mass for the past several months. I have been testing the program and have, for the most part, found that it works quite well. There is, however, one caveat. At times the program would go to places I didn’t tell it to, and sometimes lock up. Half way through testing I discovered that if I just waited “a bit,” it would catch up to where I was in the Mass, but that's frustrating. The time delay is caused by the weak signal strength of my mobile network, but your network may be better. The best solution to this problem would be a Wi-Fi Booster piggybacking off of an existing Wi-Fi network with a logon for parishioner use. This, of course, would be at the discretion of your pastor. Guidelines for use at Mass. If you are going to use the program at Mass, the following guidelines should probably be observed. 1. Mass is obviously not the time to play. Once you have played (after viewing our “How It Works” video), set the controls to how you will be using the missal during Mass beforehand. If you start switching things around during, your prayer will be distracted. 2. If use at Mass becomes the least bit frustrating, put the phone away and switch to a printed missal. We will continue to work diligently to resolve the performance issues which hopefully will go away over time. In the meantime, there’s lots of fun to be had at home using the larger screen on your laptop or tablet (If it freezes on your larger screen, just refresh the page). Thank you for using our online TLM missals. We hope you enjoy them. - Steve Kraut |
